Next Growers' is on June 2
The Sydney Morning Herald Growers' Market is a pioneer on the Sydney farmers’ market scene, turning 14 years old in 2012. Located by Sydney Harbour at the picturesque Pyrmont Bay Park, it features more than 70 producers’ stalls selling everything from fresh fruit and seasonal vegetables to lamb, beef, rare-breed pork and seafood. Loyal regulars and visitors make a morning of it with specialty breakfasts, locally-roasted coffee, luscious pastries and The Three Blue Ducks’ famous pulled-pork rolls.
Market goers get monthly recipe inspiration from guest celebrity chefs at the Market Chef Stage, hosted by Crave Sydney International Food Festival director (and The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide co-editor) Joanna Savill.
Pyrmont Growers’ is held on the first Saturday of every month on Pirrama Road, from 7 am to 11 am. Discount parking is available at The Star, opposite and it’s an easy walk or bus ride from the CBD.
The market operates rain, hail or shine but is closed in January.
Getting there: Take the train to Town Hall and walk across Pyrmont Bridge or get the Pyrmont bus at the QVB (to The Star). There is also parking available at The Star at a discount rate of $10. Just get your ticket stamped at The Sydney Morning Herald information stall.
