The Perfect Picnic

If the idea of an afternoon hanging out with your mates on one of Sydney’s harbour islands grabs you, the Perfect Picnic is for you. Laid back beats from DJ Lady Tre will set the mood for an afternoon chilling on Clark Island.

The Perfect Picnic is all up to you, It’s an entirely BYO event –grab a blanket, plenty of food, a group of mates and plenty of imagination for a very cruisy day out surrounded by a world famous Harbour.

Explore the island and get into group games, or just lay back among the trees in the biggest picnic Clark Island has ever seen.

***There’ll be prizes throughout the day for the best costumes and picnic setups so get creative!***
For the ultimate reveller who packs the best picnic and dresses it up, Director, Sydney International Food Festival, Joanna Savill and DJ Lady Tre will join forces to select the 2009 Pick of the Picnic. The winner will take home an accommodation package at the newest and most ultimate accommodation house in NSW National Parks – Thomson Cottage at Byron Bay right on Byron Bay Beach.

Joanna Savill will draw on her culinary genius to judge the best picnic spread and award the first ever Waterfront Feast prize. The lucky winner will receive two nights’ accommodation at the ultimate waterfront beach cabin at NSW National Park’s Depot Beach.

For those that dress up watch out as DJ Lady Tre will be on the prowl for the best dressed picnicker. For being so stylish, she is going to lock you up for a night in the award winning Q Station to be punished by the stunning harbour views and wake up to the wild beauty of Sydney Harbour National Park. Runners up beware because Mr Fancy Pants and Ms Costume Queen will each receive an annual pass to all NSW National Parks.

There’s plenty of outdoor games like badminton, bocce and giant chequers and chessboard. No need to bring your own games as there will be heaps to occupy yourselves with on the island.

If fancy dress isn’t your thing, and for those who consider themselves a bit of a sport star, let the games begin! Sydney Swans stud Nick Malceski will be running around on the day to find the winner of the games and the champion of the limbo. Our Perfect Picnic Champions will win themselves an adventure in the Blue Mountains National Park, thanks to Life’s an Adventure or an annual pass to try out all the parks.

From 11am, you can travel to Clark Island every half hour on a ferry from Circular Quay, with the ferry ride included in the price of your ticket. The last ferry will depart Clark Island at 5.30pm and return to Circular Quay.
